I decided to try my luck at getting a drawing done quickly through Virtual Sketch Date . I was amazed at how easy it was and how quickly I was able to finish it.
This drawing is done on Smooth Art Drawing, 110 lb. paper. The size of the drawing is 4"x6". I used the following graphite pencils: 2H, B, HB, 2B, 4B, and Ebony. It took me 2.5 hours to complete.

Beautiful Valerie!
I love it!
I second what Kasie said - Beautiful! And quick too! Did you use the Ebony pencil for the background? I layered it with 2B and 4B graphite and the background alone took me over an hour! I like your crisp results and the good form you have in the petals.
Thanks, Kasie and Stacy. Yes, I used the ebony on the background. After I sprayed it, I realized I hadn't used the blender on the background, thus it shows pencil lines.
Just super, Valerie. I like the lines!
I like your close up composition, particularly that strong left edge of the petals. Nice work.
I love the composition and the amount of detail you have managed to fit into it. Lovely softness on the petals contrasting well with the dark background.
Lovely soft looking petals :D Great job with the little vase.
I like the compostion, nice and close up. Good feel to the petals, flowy (not a a word but I like it anyway:0)
Great image - very dramatic and nice lines. Subtle and bold at the same time.
Oh graphite. . .so elegant. Lovely drawing!
Valerie, the composition here is stunning. I really like the "wall" off to the right. As well the petals are very well done! So glad to have you this month!
Hi Valerie,
I have the distinct feeling of satin wedding gown from the petals. :)
Very Nice!
Nicely done, Valerie. And LOVE that you posted your time, and media, size, etc...You and graphite are quite the keen friends!
This is beautiful and now I want to try it in graphite too!
Great work Valerie, Love the close crop and the way you balanced the contrast of the background. Beautiful drawing!
Beautiful drawing and lovely composition. I love the edges of your petals.
